2. FORT ERIE, Ontario

Application (930510300) by CJRN 710 INC., P.O. Box 710, Niagara Falls, Ontario, L2E 6X7, to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on the radio programming undertaking CKEY-FM Fort Erie:
|
- by reducing the level of instrumental musical selections on a weekly basis from "35% to less than 50%" to "less than 35%";
|
- by reducing the minimum Canadian content in Category 2 music on a weekly basis from 20% to 10%;
|
- by increasing the maximum use of Hits on a weekly basis from 45% to 95%.
|
The applicant is proposing exemptions from the Commission's policies for FM requiring a minimum of 30% Canadian content in Category 2 music and a weekly level of hits below 50%. The applicant is applying for flexibility in this matter as per the guidelines for flexibility for border market stations contained in Public Notice 1992-3, which states that the Commission may be prepared to grant relief from certain programming requirements.
