Decision

Ottawa, 29 December 1993
Decision CRTC 93-762
Télécâble S.B.V.T. Inc.
Saint-Jean-Baptiste-Vianney, Quebec - 930529300
Licence amendment
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1993-139 dated 8 October 1993, the Commission approves the application to amend to licence for the cable distribution undertaking serving Saint-Jean-Baptiste-Vianney with respect to section 23 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 (the regulations). Accordingly, it is a condition of licence that the licensee be relieved of the requirement that it distribute at least four television programming services as provided for in section 23 of the regulations, so long as it distributes only those U.S. television services listed in the current application or as may be authorized by the Commission.
In approving this application, the Commission has taken into account the applicant's argument that the distribution of additional English-language CANCOM services is not warranted for its subscribers who are almost exclusively francophone. The Commission notes the intervention from Canadian Satellite Communications Inc. in this regard.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
