Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1992-84 dated 11 December 1992, the Commission renews the broadcasting licence for CKIX-FM St. John's from 1 September 1993 to 31 August 1998, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
This term will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of this licence at the same time as that of other radio stations in the area.
The Commission reaffirms the particular importance it attaches to the development of Canadian talent and has noted the level of the licensee's commitment for this purpose in light of the station's financial situation.
