Decision

Ottawa, 16 April 1993
Decision CRTC 93-113
CFCN Communications Limited
Lethbridge, Alberta - 921127700
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1993-7 dated 11 February 1993, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking CFCN-TV-5 Lethbridge (the originating station), by authorizing the licensee to add the transmitter CKCP-TV-1 Coleman, Alberta.
The programs of CFCN-TV-5 have been rebroadcast in Coleman on CKCP-TV-1, licensed to The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of Canada, Lodge No. 117 (The Lodge). The Lodge has ceased operations and has therefore requested the revocation of its licence for CKCP-TV-1.
In view of the licensee's request and pursuant to paragraph 9(1)(e) and subsection 24(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission hereby revokes the licence issued to The Lodge for the above-mentioned undertaking.
The Commission notes that, as a result of the approval granted herein, the residents of Coleman will continue to receive CTV affiliate service from CFCN-TV-5.
In accordance with subsection 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission will only issue the licence amendment, and the authority granted herein may only be implemented at such time as written notification is received from the Department of Communications that it will issue a Broadcasting Certificate.

Secretary General
