Telecom Costs Order CRTC 93-5
In re: The New Brunswick Telephone Company Limited - Rate of Return on Average Common Equity for 1993
Application for costs by the New Brunswick Anti-Poverty Association and the Consumers' Association of Canada (NBAPA et al).
DIRECTION AS TO COSTS
1. The application of NBAPA et al for an award of costs in respect of the above titled proceeding is
hereby approved.
2. The Commission has considered the submissions of NBAPA et al and The New Brunswick
Telephone Company Limited (NBTel) and finds that the application of NBAPA et al meets the
requirements of section 76 of the National Telecommunications Powers and Procedures
Act and the criteria set out in subsection 44(1) of the CRTC Telecommunications
Rules of Procedure.
3. The costs awarded herein shall be paid to NBAPA et al by NBTel.
4. Costs awarded herein shall be subject to taxation in accordance with the CRTC
Telecommunications Rules of Procedure.
5. Costs awarded herein shall be taxed by John Keogh.
6. NBAPA et al shall, within thirty days of the issue of this order, submit a bill of costs and an
affidavit of disbursements to the Taxing Officer, serving a copy on NBTel.
7. NBTel may, within two weeks of receipt of those documents, file comments with the Taxing
Officer with respect to the costs claimed, serving a copy on NBAPA et al.
8. NBAPA et al may, within two weeks of receiving comments from NBTel, file its reply, serving a
copy on the company.
