Decision

Ottawa, 22 May 1992
Decision CRTC 92-295
The Ontario Educational Communications Authority (TVOntario)
Kaboni, Ontario - 911465300 - 911466100 - 911467900
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1992-24 dated 25 March 1992, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking CICA-TV Toronto (the originating station), by authorizing the licensee to add a transmitter at Kaboni, operating on channel 24, with a transmitter power of 40 watts.
The Commission also approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence of the television programming undertaking "La Chaîne française", by authorizing the licensee to add a transmitter at Kaboni, operating on channel 28, with a transmitter power of 40 watts.
Similarly, the Commission approves the application to amend TVOntario's radiocommunication distribution undertaking licence, by authorizing the licensee to add a transmitter at Kaboni, operating on channel 36, with a transmitter power of 40 watts, for the purpose of broadcasting the proceedings of the Ontario Legislative Assembly.
These approvals are subject to the requirement that, in each case, construction of the transmitting facilities be completed and that they be in operation within twelve months of the date of this decision or, where the licensee applies to the Commission and satisfies the Commission that it cannot complete implementation before the expiry of this period and that an extension is in the public interest, within such further periods of time as may be approved in writing by the Commission.
Should the Commission refuse to approve an extension of time requested by the licensee, the authority granted shall lapse and become null and void upon the termination of the last approved extension period.
In accordance with subsection 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission will only issue the licence amendments, and the authorities granted herein may only be implemented at such time as written notification is received from the Department of Communications that it will issue Broadcasting Certificates.
