Following a Public Hearing held in Quebec City beginning on 19 May 1992, the Commission approves the application for a special FM licence for a French-language community radio programming undertaking (Type A) at Fredericton, on the frequency 96.5 MHz, channel 243, with an effective radiated power of 33 watts, to broadcast the "Festival francophone de Fredericton", from 29 to 31 May 1992.
The Commission will issue a licence, the term of which will be 29 to 31 May 1992, subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued.
It is a condition of licence that the applicant devote not more than 20% of the station's total broadcasting time to advertising, in accordance with the community radio policy for Type A stations.
The Department of Communications has advised the Commission that this application is conditionally technically acceptable, and that a Broadcasting Certificate will only be issued once it has been determined that the undertaking's proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.
In accordance with subsection 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission will only issue the licence, and the authority granted herein may only be implemented, at such time as written notification is received from the DOC that its technical requirements have been met, and that a Broadcasting Certificate will be issued.
