BELL, B.C. TEL AND MT&T - RESTRUCTURING OF 800 SERVICES
Reference: Bell Tariff Notice 4435B.C. Tel Tariff Notice 2664MT&T Tariff Notices 259, 260 and 274
The Commission has received applications from Bell Canada (Bell), British Columbia Telephone Company (B.C. Tel) and Maritime Telegraph & Telephone Company Limited (MT&T) for approval of tariff revisions related to 800 Service.
Bell, B.C. Tel and MT&T propose to reduce the per-minute rates for 800 Service Canada and 800 Entry Canada. For 800 Service Canada, the companies propose to increase the volume discount to 30% for usage over $5,000.
Bell and MT&T also propose to reduce rates for 800 Service United States and 800 Entry United States. MT&T also requests approval to delete its former U.S. 800 Service, which is currently grandfathered. MT&T states that it has no customers for this service.
In support of their applications, the companies have submitted information for which they have claimed confidentiality. Abridged versions of this information have been provided for the public record.
