Application (921523700) by TABER CABLE TELEVISION LTD., c/o Monarch Cable TV Ltd., 101 Carry Drive South East, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1B 3M6, to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on the (cable) distribution undertaking serving Taber, by adding a condition of licence allowing the licensee to distribute at its option, as part of the basic service, the programming services of WJBK-TV (CBS) and WXYZ-TV (ABC) Detroit, Michigan, received via satellite from the Canadian Satellite Communications Inc. (CANCOM) network.
The Commission notes that the licensee also wants to delete the carriage of CBXFT-3 Lethbridge, the off-air, CBC distant signal received at the local head-end, and to replace it with the priority, French-language CBC Satellite service. The licensee was previously approved for an exemption to the requirement to the Cable Television Regulations, 1986, to allow for the distribution of the off-air CBXFT signal.

Application (920767100) by the CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on the (radiocommunication) distribution undertaking for CBRT-7 Waterton Park, by decreasing the transmitter power from 8.9 to 1 watt.
The applicant states that all residents previously covered should continue to receive a good signal.
