The Commission has received the following applications:

1. HARTLAND/SOMERVILLE, VICTORIA CORNER, WAKEFIELD, LOWER WAKEFIELD AND SOUTH GREENFIELD, New Brunswick
|
Application (920400900) by CABLE 2000 INC., P.O. Box 880, Bathurst, New Brunswick, E2A 4H7, to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on the cable distribution undertaking serving the above-mentioned localities as follows:
|
- by adding a condition of licence relieving the licensee from the requirement of carrying 4 CANCOM signals on the basic service for Hartland pursuant to Section 23 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986; and
|
- for authority to delete the local head-end at Hartland (Part III) and interconnect to the Woodstock, New Brunswick (Class 2) system.
|
The licensee states that the Hartland subscribers would receive the same services as that of the Woodstock system at no additional costs.

3. KENORA, KEEWATIN AND JAFFRAY, MELLICK, Ontario

Application (920316700) by NORCOM TELECOMMUNICATIONS LIMITED, P.O. Box 148, Kenora, Ontario, P9N 3X1, to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on the cable distribution undertaking serving the above-mentioned localities as follows:
|
- by adding the distribution of WTVS (PBS) Detroit, Michigan received via satellite from the Canadian Satellite Communications Inc. (CANCOM) network on the basic service;
|
- by deleting the distribution of KAWE-TV (PBS) Pembina, North Dakota from the basic service; and
|
- by being relieved, by condition of licence, from the requirement that the TVOntario French-language service, "La ChaîneFrançaise", be carried on the basic band (channels 2 to 13). Instead, the licensee will make the signal available on its basic service package.

4. ORILLIA, HUNTSVILLE AND PARRY SOUND, Ontario

Applications (920319100, 920317500, 920318300) by the CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on the radio programming undertaking for CBL Toronto, Ontario, as follows:
|
- by increasing the effective radiated power of CBCO-FM Orillia from 1,080 to 3,100 watts;
|
- by relocating its transmitter site to the original site near Orillia; and
|
- by adding rebroadcasters at Huntsville and Parry Sound, with the following parameters:

If approved, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation will close CBCM-FM Penetanguishene, thereby eliminating significant coverage overlaps to this region. The applicant states that these applications bring the additional benefit of extending coverage in the Huntsville and Parry Sound areas.
