- by changing the frequency from 102.3 MHz to 95.5 MHz; and

3. BELLEVILE, Ontario
Application (920172400) by the CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on the radio programming undertaking for CJBC Toronto by changing the technical parameters of CJBC-1-FM Belleville, as follows:
- by changing the frequency from 95.5 MHz to 94.3 MHz; and
- by decreasing the effective radiated power from 25,000 to 18,200 watts.
The applicant states that no loss of service is foreseen because the proposed technical changes will allow it to reduce the overlapping which presently exists to the east and west of Belleville and that the areas affected by the reduction in the coverage area of the station are currently served by CJBC-5-FM Peterborough and CJBC-2-FM Kingston, Ontario.
The application is conditional upon approval of an application by Belleville Radio Limited to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on the radio programming undertaking for CJOJ-FM to use the 95.5 MHz frequency.
Following approval of these applications by the Commission, the Corporation would surrender the licence for CBBB-FM Belleville whichwas authorized in Decision CRTC 79-325 to use frequency 94.3 MHz and which was never implemented because of budgetary restraint.
To ensure the continuation of English-language service in the Belleville area and to the east of Belleville, the Corporation proposes to apply for an amendment to the technical parameters of CBBK-FM Kingston to increase considerably its coverage area.
