Decision

Ottawa, 4 January 1991
Decision CRTC 91-2
The Ontario Educational Communications Authority (TVOntario)
Oba and Summer Beaver, Ontario - 901872200 - 901878900
Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region beginning on 27 November 1990, the Commission approves the applications for licences for television broadcasting transmitting undertakings at Oba and Summer Beaver to rebroadcast, on channels 17 and 11, respectively, and with a respective transmitter power of 20 watts and 5 watts, the programs of the French-language educational programming service operated by TVOntario ("La Chaîne française"), received via satellite.
The Commission will issue licences to The Ontario Educational Communications Authority (TVOntario) expiring 31 August 1992, subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licences to be issued. This term will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of these licences at the same time as that of "La Chaîne française".
It is a condition of each licence that construction of the undertaking be completed and that it be in operation within twelve months of the date of this decision or, where the applicant applies to the Commission within this period and satisfies the Commission that it cannot complete implementation before the expiry of this period and that an extension is in the public interest, within such further period of time as is approved in writing by the Commission.
