- that the licensee, during each broadcast week where the number of instrumental musical selections amounts to 50% or more of all musical selections, devote 15% or more of the musical selections from content category 2 to Canadian selections and schedule those selections in a reasonable manner throughout each broadcast day;
|
- that the licensee, during each broadcast week where the number of instrumental musical selections amounts to at least 35% but less than 50% of all musical selections, devote 20% or more of the musical selections from content category 2 to Canadian selections and schedule those selections in a reasonable manner throughout each broadcast day.

Application (910788900) by MACLEAN HUNTER CABLE TV, a Division of Maclean Hunter Limited, 80 Worcester Road, Etobicoke, Ontario, M9W 1K7, to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on the (cable) distribution undertaking serving part of Hamilton as follows:

a) by deleting the condition of licence requiring that the licensee distribute the programming services of WJET-TV (ABC), WSEE-TV (CBS), and WQLN (PBS), Erie, Pennsylvania, received off-air, on the basic service; and
|
b) by adding a condition of licence allowing the licensee to distribute, at its option, as part of the basic service, the programming service of WNEQ-TV (PBS) Buffalo, New York, received off-air.
|
The applicant states that the ABC and CBS signals proposed to be deleted suffer from poor technical quality; however, both of these networks will continue to be available locally from Buffalo, New York.

Applications (900418500, 900420100, 900419300) by TABER CABLE TELEVISION LTD. (Taber), P.O. Box 1448, Taber, Alberta, T0K 2G0, licensee of the (cable) distribution undertakings serving Taber, Vauxhall, and Bow Island, and by its subsidiary, BROOKS COMMUNITY TELEVISION LTD. (Brooks), licensee of the (cable) distribution undertaking serving Brooks, for approval to transfer all of the issued and outstanding shares held by Kenneth Greentree in Taber (.004%) and in Jasper Cable Contractors Ltd. (51%) and all of the issued and outstanding shares held by Paulette Greentree in Jasper Cable (49%) to Monarch Cable T.V. Ltd.

As a result of this transaction, Monarch Cable T.V. Ltd. would acquire effective control of Taber and Brooks (directly and indirectly). Monarch then intends to dissolve Jasper into Monarch. Consequently all of the issued and outstanding shares of Taber and Brooks held by Jasper would be held directly by Monarch.
|
