The Commission has received the following applications:
1. GANDER, Newfoundland
Applications (903295400, 901743500) by NEWCAP BROADCASTING LIMITED, 45 Alderney Drive, Suite 1800, P.O. Box 1007, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, B2Y 3Z7, to amend the licence to carry on the broadcasting transmitting undertaking for CKXD Gander as follows:
- by changing the programs source from studios located at Gander and CJYQ St. John's to studios located at Gander, CKIX-FM St. John's, CKXG Grand Falls and CFIQ Harbour Grace; and
- by increasing the transmitter power from 1,000 to 5,000 watts.
The applicant states that this increase in power was previously approved in Decision CRTC 81-436 of 26 June 1981 but was never implemented.

2. BARRIE, Ontario
Application (900852500) by POWER BROADCASTING INC., 800 Victoria Place, Montréal, Quebec, H4Z 1E3, to amend the licence to carrry on the broadcasting transmitting undertaking for CKBB Barrie, by increasing the authorized night-time transmitter power from 2,500 to 10,000 watts. The applicant is also proposing to install a new antenna system that will result in a slight change in the day-time radiation pattern.
The applicant states that these changes will provide a better service in its coverage area, particularly in the immediate southwest.

3. BRAMPTON, Ontario
Application (900547100) by CKMW RADIO LTD. to amend the licence to carry on the broadcasting transmitting undertaking for CIAO Brampton, by decreasing the authorized day-time transmitter power from 3,000 to 1,000 watts and from 5,000 to 250 watts night-time and by changing the frequency from 790 kHz to 530 kHz.
The applicant states that these changes should provide a better service in the coverage area.
The Commission notes that the changes described above are intended to address the specific concerns raised in Decisions CRTC 85-13 dated 9 January 1985 and CRTC 86-990 dated 2 October 1986 in which it recognized the constraints and limitations in the coverage achieved by CIAO on its present frequency assignment and considered that another solution should be sought to the present technical problems experienced by this station.

Application (901852400) by LINDSAY CATV SYSTEM LIMITED to amend the licence to carry on the broadcasting receiving undertaking serving Lindsay, to be relieved, by condition of licence, from the requirement to distribute the signal of CHEX-TV, a CBC affiliate and local priority signal, on an unrestricted channel. The signal will be distributed on Channel 12.
