Decision

Ottawa, 12 February 1991
Decision CRTC 91-95
Nor-Del Cablevision Limited
Norwich, Otterville and Delhi; and Nanticoke, Ontario - 903184000 - 903185700
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1990-113 dated 19 December 1990, the Commission approves the applications to amend the licences for the broadcasting receiving undertakings serving the communities noted above, by adding a condition of licence relieving the licensee of the requirement of section 9 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 to distribute the French-language educational television programming service operated by TVOntario ("La Chaîne française") on the basic band (channels 2 to 13), so long as it is distributed as part of the basic service of each undertaking. The licensee has indicated that it will distribute "La Chaîne française" on channel 27 of both cable systems as part of the basic service.
In approving these requests, the Commission has taken into consideration the fact that these areas have not been designated by the Government of Ontario to receive French-language services on a priority basis.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
