Decision

Ottawa, 9 January 1991
Decision CRTC 91-8
Rogers Cable TV Limited
Kitchener, Stratford and area, Brantford, Paris and surrounding areas; and St. Marys, Ontario - 902046200 - 902047000
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1990-101 dated 29 October 1990, the Commission approves the applications by Rogers Cable TV Limited (Rogers) to consolidate the authorized service territory of the broadcasting receiving undertaking serving St. Marys into the authorized service area of the undertaking serving Kitchener, Stratford and area, Brantford, Paris and surrounding areas. Accordingly, the licence for the undertaking serving Kitchener, Stratford and area, Brantford, Paris and surrounding areas will be amended to include St. Marys, as part of its authorized service area, upon surrender of the licence currently in force for the St. Marys system.
The Commission notes that the two cable systems currently carry identical channel alignments, have the same basic monthly fees and use the same facilities for operational requirements such as accounting, service requests and repair services. Rogers has also requested the revocation of its licence for the broadcasting receiving undertaking serving St. Marys.
Accordingly, in view of the licensee's request and pursuant to paragraphs 6(1)(c) and 15(1)(a) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission, on the recommendation of the Executive Committee, hereby revokes the licence issued for St. Marys.
