MARITIME TELEGRAPH AND TELEPHONE COMPANY, LIMITED - RESTRUCTURING OF RATES FOR COMPETITIVE NETWORK SERVICES
Reference: Tariff Notice 33
The Commission has received an application from Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Company, Limited (MT&T), dated 6 April 1990, for the approval of tariff revisions for its competitive network services. The company is proposing revisions to the rates for the following services: Megaroute Local, Megaroute and Megastream Intercity, Dataroute, Interexchange Voice Grade Channels (IXVGs), Datalink and Datapac. The company also proposes to introduce rates for DS-3 Service.
Finally, the company is proposing a revised discount structure, applicable initially to Megaroute and Megastream services, in which discount levels would be based on the duration of the customer's contract and the monthly billing amount.
In support of its application, MT&T has submitted certain information for which it has claimed confidentiality. It has also provided an abridged version of this information for the public record.
The procedures to be followed in connection with this proceeding are set out below.
Procedure
1. Related documents may be examined at any of MT&T's business offices or at the offices of the CRTC, Room 201, Central Building, Les Terrasses de la Chaudière, 1 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec, or Suite 1007, Bank of Commerce Building, 1809 Barrington Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia. A copy of the application may be obtained by any interested person upon request directed to the company at the address shown below.

3. Interested persons wishing to participate in this proceeding (interveners) must file a notice of intention to participate with the Commission and serve a copy on MT&T by 28 May 1990. The Commission will issue a complete list of parties and their mailing addresses.
4. Interveners may address interrogatories to MT&T. Any such interrogatories must be filed with the Commission and served on MT&T by 28 May 1990.
5. MT&T's responses to any interrogatories must be filed with the Commission and served on interveners by 18 June 1990.
6. Requests by interveners for further responses to their interrogatories, specifying in each case why a further response is both relevant and necessary, and requests for public disclosure of information for which confidentiality has been claimed, setting out the reasons for disclosure, must be filed with the Commission and served on the company by 3 July 1990.
7. The company's written responses to requests for further responses to interrogatories and requests for public disclosure of information must be filed with the Commission and served on interveners by 10 July 1990.
8. The Commission will issue directions as to further procedure once a decision has been made with respect to any requests for further responses or for public disclosure of information.
9. Where a document is to be filed or served by a specific date, the document must be actually received, not merely mailed, by that date.
