Telecom Public Notice

Ottawa, 25 July 1990
Telecom Public Notice CRTC 1990-67
BELL CANADA - APPLICATION TO REQUIRE THE FILING OF TARIFFS OF TOLLS BY ROGERS CABLE T.V. LIMITED, CARRYING ON BUSINESS AS ROGERS NETWORK SERVICES
On 27 March 1990, Bell Canada (Bell) filed an application for orders requiring Rogers Cable T.V. Limited (RCTV), carrying on business as Rogers Network Services (RNS), to file forthwith, for the Commission's approval, tariffs of tolls for all telecommunications or telephone services which it provides or offers.
In addition, Bell requested an order directing RNS to cease provision of any services interconnected to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), unless and until the interconnections are brought into compliance with the Railway Act.
RCTV filed an answer to the application on 26 April 1990 and requested an order dismissing the application. Bell replied on 7 May 1990. British Columbia Telephone Company filed comments in support of Bell's application on 25 April 1990.
The Commission invites comment on Bell's application. In particular, the Commission is interested in receiving comment as to whether RCTV requires an interconnection agreement for any interconnections with the PSTN, or whether such interconnections are authorized under current agreements between Telesat Canada (Telesat) and the members of Telecom Canada, or under existing tariffs providing for the interconnection of Telesat's telecommunications systems.
