Hearst and Chapleau, Ontario - 900316100 - 900315300

Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region beginning on 5 July 1990, the Commission approves the applications for licences for English-language television broadcasting transmitting undertakings at Hearst and Chapleau, on channels 4 and 9 with effective radiated powers of 3,320 and 258 watts respectively, to rebroadcast the programs of CITO-TV Timmins.
The Commission will issue licences expiring 31 August 1994, subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licences to be issued. This term will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of these licences at the same time as that of the originating station CITO-TV. The applicant has advised the Commission that the licences for these rebroadcasters will be held by Mid-Canada Communications (Canada) Corp.
It is a condition of each licence that the authority granted herein be implemented within twelve months of the date of this decision or, where the applicant applies to the Commission and satisfies the Commission that it cannot implement its authority before the expiry of this period and that an extension is in the public interest, within such further period of time as is approved in writing by the Commission.
In Decision CRTC 90-1074 released today, the Commission approved the applications by Baton Broadcasting Incorporated to acquire effective control of Mid-Canada Communications (Canada) Corp. and the assets of Huron Broadcasting Limited.
