Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1989-85 dated 21 July 1989, the Commission approves the application by The Sports Network (TSN) to amend the condition of licence requiring the licensee to charge each cable operator wishing to distribute the English-language sports specialty service TSN as part of the basic service, the wholesale rate per subscriber per month as described in the appendix to Decision CRTC 88-776 dated 27 October 1988.

TSN has proposed to replace the wholesale rate by charging Télécâble Laurentien Inc. the following joint rate for the distribution of both Le Réseau des Sports (RDS), a French-language sports specialty service, and TSN on the basic service of the broadcasting receiving undertakings serving Hull, Aylmer, Gatineau, Buckingham, Masson and Angers, Quebec and Rockland, Ontario:

5. c) The licensee shall charge Télécâble Laurentien Inc. for the distribution of both TSN and RDS as part of the basic service of the cable systems serving Hull, Aylmer, Gatineau, Buckingham, Masson and Angers, Quebec, and Rockland, Ontario, the wholesale rate set out below:Until 31 August 1990/jusqu'au 31 août 1990

The Commission notes that both network licensees have agreed to the proposed rate schedule.

In Decision CRTC 89-719 of today's date, the Commission approved applications by Télécâble Laurentien Inc. to distribute TSN as part of the basic service of its cable systems serving the communities noted above.
