The Commission has received the following applications:

1.ANTIGONISH, Nova Scotia
|
Application (880330600) by ATLANTIC BROADCASTERS LIMITED, P.O. Box 5800, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, B2G 2R9, to amend the broadcasting licence for CJFX Antigonish, by increasing the effective radiated power from 10,000 to 25,000 watts and by changing the transmitter site which is located on Post Road to Pleasant Valley Road (approximately 13 kilometers north-west).

The applicant states that these changes will result in a stronger, clearer signal in the entire coverage area, particularly in the fringe areas.

2.BATHURST AND ADJACENT AREAS, New Brunswick
|
Application (881218200) by NORTH EAST CABLEVISION LTD./CABLEVISION NORD-EST LTEE, P.O. Box 800, Bathurst, New Brunswick, E2A 4H7, to amend the licence for the broadcasting receiving undertaking serving Bathurst and adjacent areas, by adding a condition of licence, pursuant to subsection 10(2) of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 (Regulations). The licensee, which is a Class 1 licensee operating in a francophone market (as defined in the Regulations using Statistics Canada figures relating to the 1986 Census) is seeking to be relieved of the rule set out in Public Notice CRTC 1987-261 of 30 November 1987 which requires any Class 1 licensee operating in a francophone market who elects to distribute any of the five listed French-language programming services, to distribute all five of them as part of the basic service.

Of these five services, the licensee is proposing to distribute only Canal Famille and TV5 as part of its basic service.

Application (882088800) by KINGS COUNTY CABLE LTD., to change the authorized service area of the broadcasting receiving undertaking serving the above-mentioned localities to include Roachville, Fennell, Smiths Creek, Plumweseep, Picadilly and Mill Brook, New Brunswick.

The licensee is proposing a monthly basic fee of $20.00 for the proposed new localities.
