Decision

Ottawa, 15 November 1988
Decision CRTC 88-807
Le Câble de Rivière du Loup Ltée Rivière-du-Loup, Saint-Antonin, Rivière-Verte, Cacouna and Notre-Dame-du-Portage, Quebec -880687900
Télédistribution Cablouis Inc. Notre-Dame-du-Lac, Cabano, Saint-Louis-du-Ha!Ha! and Dégelis, Quebec -880697800
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1988-160 dated 26 September 1988, the Commission approves the applications to add a condition of licence relieving the licensees from the requirement of section 9 of the regulations to distribute, as part of the basic band, the programming service of the regional television station CJBR-TV Rimouski, Quebec, a station owned and operated by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
In assessing these applications, the Commission notes that the licensees will continue to distribute CKRT-TV, a local affiliate of the CBC French-language network service which broadcasts almost all of the network's programming with the exception of a 20-minute news program broadcast each week day. Further, the Commission notes that the licensees propose to distribute CJBR-TV on an augmented channel and that approval of the present applications will enable the distribution of the new specialty services on the basic band.
