Telecom Costs Order CRTC 88-6

In re: Bell Canada (Bell) - 1988 Revenue Requirement, Rate Rebalancing and Revenue Settlement Issues

Application for costs by the National Anti-Poverty Organization (NAPO).
|
DIRECTION AS TO COSTS
|
1. The application of NAPO for an award of costs in the above titled proceeding is hereby approved in the following terms.
|
2. With respect to NAPO's counsel Mr. Glenn Bell, the Commission has determined that the participation of Mr. Bell warrants only a partial award of costs.
|
3. The Commission considers that NAPO's application otherwise meets the requirements of section 73 of the National Telecommunications Powers and Procedures Act and the criteria set out in subsection 44(1) of the CRTC Telecommunications Rules of Procedure and that NAPO is entitled to the costs of counsel Mr. Andrew Roman, one half of the costs of counsel Mr. Glenn Bell, and the costs of its expert witnesses Dr. Allen Buchalew, Dr. Lawrence Booth and Dr. Michael Berkowitz.

4. Costs awarded herein shall be paid to NAPO by Bell.
|
5. Costs awarded herein shall be subject to taxation in accordance with the CRTC Telecommunications Rules of Procedure.
|
6. Costs awarded herein shall be taxed by Allan Rosenzveig.
|
7. NAPO shall, within thirty days of the issue of this order, submit a bill of costs and an affidavit of disbursements to the taxing officer and serve a copy thereof on Bell.
|
8. Bell may, within two weeks of receipt of the bill of costs and affidavit of disbursements, file its comments with regard to the costs claimed and serve a copy thereof on NAPO.
|
9. NAPO may file a reply within two weeks of receipt of Bell's comments, serving a copy thereof on Bell.
