Decision

Ottawa, 13 January 1986
Decision CRTC 86-10
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Battle River, Alberta - 852017300
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1985-254 dated 26 November 1985, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CBXAT-6 Battle River by increasing the transmitter power from 8.9 watts to an effective radiated power of 6,300 watts and by changing the transmitter channel from 9 to 10.
The CBC has indicated that the proposed changes will strenghten the station's overall signal coverage and extend its service to more than 800 potential listeners not previously served.
In accordance with paragraph 22(1)(b) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission will only issue the licence amendment, and the authority granted herein may only be implemented, at such time as written notification is received from the Department of Communications that it will issue an amendment to the Technical Construction and Operating Certificate.
