CNCP TELECOMMUNICATIONS - ELECTRONIC MAIL AND OFFICE COMMUNICATION SERVICES

Reference: Tariff Notice 303

The Commission has received an application from CNCP Telecommunications (CNCP), dated 14 June 1985, for approval of tariff revisions associated with Electronic Mail and Office Communication Services. Specifically, the proposed tariff revisions would allow for: (i) the transmission of Electronic Office Services messages to and from the Telex (intra-Canada and Canada-U.S.) network; (ii) the transmission of Electronic Office Services messages to CNCP's Telepost service and Western Union's Mailgram service; and (iii) the transmission of Teletex messages to and from intra-Canada Telex, and to U.S. Telex, U.S. TWX and International Telex.

In support of items (ii) and (iii) above, CNCP referred to revenue and cost information filed with the Commission in conjunction with CNCP Tariff Notice 180. The Commission has requested similar information with respect to item (i).

The application may be examined at any of CNCP's business offices or at the offices of the CRTC, Room 561, Central Building, Les Terrasses de la Chaudière, 1 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec. A copy of the application may be obtained by any interested party upon request directed to CNCP at the address shown below.

The Commission has granted interim approval for the tariff revisions described in (ii) and (iii) above and will make a final determination after comments in response to this public notice have been considered.
