BELL CANADA AND BRITISH COLUMBIA TELEPHONE COMPANY - ACCOUNTING TREATMENT FOR STATION CONNECTIONS
|
The Commission has received two applications from Bell Canada (Bell), dated 14 December 1984 and 10 July 1985, regarding the accounting treatment for station connections. In the first application, Bell proposed to expense all costs associated with business inside wiring effective 1 January 1985. In the second application, Bell proposed to expense all costs associated with all re-installations and re-connections effective 1 January 1986.

The Commission has also received an application from British Columbia Telephone Company (B.C. Tel), dated 25 June 1985, proposing to expense the installation cost of all business inside wiring effective 1 January 1986 and to expense the installation costs of residential inside wiring effective 1 January 1989.

Bell's applications may be examined at any of the company's business offices or at the offices of the CRTC, Room 561, Central Building, Les Terrasses Chaudière, 1 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec or Complex Guy Favreau, East Tower, 200 Dorchester Blvd. West, 6th floor, Montreal, Quebec. A copy of the applications may be obtained by any interested party upon request directed to the company at the address shown below.

B.C. Tel's application may be examined at any of the company's business offices or at the offices of the CRTC, Room 561, Central Building, Les Terrasses de la Chaudière, 1 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec or 700 West Georgia Street, Suite 1130, Vancouver, British Columbia. A copy of the application may be obtained by any interested party upon request directed to the company at the address shown below.

The Commission announces the following procedure for consideration of these applications.

1) Any person wishing to address interrogatories to Bell and B.C. Tel regarding their applications
may do so by writing to Bell and B.C. Tel, with copies to the Commission, by 20 September
1985.
|
2) Copies of responses to interrogatories addressed by other persons may be obtained upon
request directed to Bell and B.C. Tel.
|
3) Responses to interrogtories must be filed with the Commission, with copies to the person who
addressed the interrogatory and to any other person who requested a copy pursuant to 2)
above, by 18 October 1985.
|
4) Any person wishing to comment on the matters raised in the applications may do so by writing
to the Commission, with copies to Bell and B.C. Tel, by 15 November 1985.
|
5) Replies from Bell and B.C. Tel must be filed with the Commission by 13 December 1985.
|
