Telecom Public Notice CRTC 1985-50
BELL CANADA - PROPOSED RESTRUCTURE OF CANADA-UNITED STATES MESSAGE TOLL SERVICE RATES
Reference: Tariff Notice 1643
The Commission has received an application from Bell Canada (Bell), dated 3 June 1985, for approval of tariff revisions to restructure its Canada-United States Message Toll Service (MTS) rates. The company has stated that this is required to prevent revenue erosion which could result from the offer, by U.S. resellers, of toll services to the U.S. and overseas.
The proposed restructure generally involves reductions for long haul rates, increases for short haul rates and increases in operator handling and person-to-person premiums.
The following table shows examples of price effects under the proposal.

The application may be examined at any of the company's business offices or at the offices of the CRTC, Room 561, Central Building, Les Terrasses de la Chaudière, 1 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec or Complex Guy Favreau, East Tower, 200 Dorchester Blvd. West, 6th floor, Montreal, Quebec. A copy of the application may be obtained by any interested party upon request directed to the company at the address shown below.
