Decision

Ottawa, 27 March 1985
Decision CRTC 85-148
Gateway City Broadcasters Limited
North Bay, Ontario - 841105000
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1984-295 dated 4 December 1984, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CHUR North Bay by changing the frequency from 1,110 kHz to 840 kHz.
The newly authorized frequency of 840 kHz became available for assignment in North Bay as a result of the Canada/United States of America Bilateral Agreement for AM Broadcasting concluded on 17 January 1984.
As a result of this frequency change, the daytime coverage of CHUR will improve significantly to the east, west and south of the present service area. In addition, the licensee will be able to extend service to Sturgeon Falls which it considers as a "natural extension of the North Bay market."
Fernand Bélisle Secretary General
