Re:  Rogers Communications Canada’s Inc. Review & Vary Application of CRTC Letter dated 3 April 2020 entitled “Bell Canada Part 1 Application to Review and Vary Telecom Decision 2019-390 – Commission Extension of Time”

Dear Sir:

On 20 May 2020, Rogers Communications Canada Inc. (Rogers) filed an application, pursuant to section 62 of the Telecommunications Act, as well as Part 1 and more specifically sections 7 and 71 of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) Rules of Practice and Procedure, to review and vary a Commission Letter dated 3 April 2020 entitled “Bell Canada Part 1 Application to Telecom Decision CRTC 2019-390 (Decision 2019-390) concerning the routing of Bell Canada’s traffic from Rogers’ network and destined for Bell Canada’s toll-free telephone number customers”.

As part of its application, Rogers requested an expedited process in view of the extension of the timelines set out in Decision 2019-390 and the expenses Rogers will incur during this extended period of time.

Commission staff considers that Rogers has provided a reasonable explanation as to why an expedited process would be warranted in this instance, and considers that granting Rogers’ request is in the public interest. Therefore, Bell Canada and interested persons are to provide responses to this application by 8 June 2020 and Rogers’ reply is to be filed by 11 June 2020.

Sincerely,
