CBYK-FM Kamloops, CBTK-FM Kelowna and CBTO-FM Revelstoke – Licence amendments

1. The Commission approves the application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to amend the broadcasting licences for the English-language radio programming undertakings CBYK-FM Kamloops and CBTK-FM Kelowna, British Columbia, in order to assign the transmitter CBTO-FM Revelstoke to CBTK-FM Kelowna and to delete it from the broadcasting licence for CBYK-FM Kamloops. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

2. In New English-language FM radio station in Kamloops, and licence amendment for CBTK-FM Kelowna, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2012-187, 30 March 2012, the Commission approved an application by the CBC for a broadcasting licence to operate an English-language FM radio station in Kamloops and assigned, at the CBC’s request, a number of transmitters to the new Kamloops station. One of these transmitters is CBTO-FM Revelstoke. During the public proceeding, the CBC modified its proposal and asked that CBTO-FM Revelstoke remain assigned to CBTK-FM Kelowna. The Commission requested that the CBC file a new application in order to provide an adequate opportunity for public consultation. The present application is in response to this request.
