Application 2011-1653-3

Terrestrial television pay-per-view service – Licence amendment

1.      The Commission approves the application by Viewer’s Choice Canada Inc. (Viewer’s Choice Canada) to amend the broadcasting licence for its regional, English-language general interest terrestrial television pay-per-view (PPV) service serving Eastern Canada by changing its nature of service from regional to national. The Commission notes that Viewer’s Choice Canada was initially licensed to serve only Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.

2.      The licensee is of the view that this amendment will allow it to compete with the other terrestrial television PPV services.

3.      The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
