Route reference: Part 1 application posted on 26 August 2011

Ottawa, 25 October 2011

CIAM-FM Media & Radio Broadcasting Association
Fort Vermillion and Cleardale, Alberta

Application 2011-1206-0

CIAM-FM-12 Cleardale – Technical change

1.      The Commission approves the application by the CIAM-FM Media & Radio Broadcasting Association to change the authorized contours of its transmitter CIAM-FM-12 Cleardale by decreasing the antenna’s effective height above average terrain from 48.5 to 39.07 metres and relocating the transmitter site.[1] The Commission did not receive any interventions concerning this application.

2.      The applicant stated the change was necessary due to a lack of space on the tower that was originally proposed.

3.      The Department of Industry (the Department) has advised the Commission that while this application is conditionally technically acceptable, it will only issue a broadcasting certificate when it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.

4.      The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
