CFGE-FM Sherbrooke – Technical change

1. The Commission approves the application by Cogeco Diffusion inc. to change the authorized contours of the radio programming undertaking CFGE-FM Sherbrooke, by increasing the average effective radiated power (ERP) from 2,750 watts to 7,412 watts (maximum ERP from 5,612 watts to 25,550 watts), by increasing the effective height of the antenna above average terrain from 158.9 to 207.1 metres and by relocating the antenna. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application. The implementation is subject to the notification by the Department of Industry (the Department) discussed in paragraph 3 below.
2. The licensee stated that the approved new technical parameters will improve the quality of the station’s signal in its central market, Sherbrooke.

Condition prior to the implementation of the new technical parameters

3. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued. Therefore, in the absence of the notification by the Department, the licensee will not be able to implement the new technical parameters approved in this decision.
