Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2005-19

Shawinigan, Quebec
  Application 2004-1025-9
Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2004-90

CFUT-FM Shawinigan - Technical change

1. The Commission approves the application by La radio campus communautaire francophone de Shawinigan inc. to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CFUT-FM Shawinigan, by changing the frequency from 91.9 MHz (channel 220LP) to 91.1 MHz (channel 216LP).
2. The Commission notes the licensee's statement that this change will not result in any significant change to the coverage area of CFUT-FM.
3. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
4. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry (the Department) notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
5. Given that the technical parameters approved in this decision are for a low-power unprotected FM service, the Commission also reminds the licensee that it will have to select another frequency if the Department so requires.
