Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-353

  Ottawa, 5 August 2003

  Application 2002-0501-4
Public Notice CRTC 2002-68

CIMS-FM Balmoral and its transmitter CIMS-FM-1 Dalhousie -- Licence renewal

1.

The Commission renews the licence for Type A community radio programming undertaking CIMS-FM Balmoral and its transmitter CIMS-FM-1 Dalhousie, from 1 September 2003 to 31 August 2010.

2.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

3.

The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in New licence form for community radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 2000-157, 16 November 2000 as well as to the following condition of licence:

The licensee shall broadcast a minimum of 4% category 3 music (special interest) as a percentage of overall music programming.

4.

The Commission considers that community radio stations should be particularly sensitive to employment equity issues in order to reflect fully the communities they serve. It encourages the licensee to consider these issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources (see Implementation of an employment equity policy, Public Notice CRTC 1992-59, 1 September 1992).
