Special event licence
Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region held on 13 July 1993, the Commission approves the application for a broadcasting licence for a French-language FM community radio programming undertaking at Chéticamp on the frequency 100.1 MHz (channel 261), with an effective radiated power of 31 watts, to broadcast programs related to the activities of "Célébrons le centenaire de notre église" and the "Festival de l'Escaouette".
The Department of Communications has advised that the undertaking will have an effective radiated power of 31 watts rather than 30 watts, as had been indicated in CRTC Notice of Public Hearing 1993-6 dated 14 May 1993.
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1992-38 dated 29 May 1992 entitled "Policies for Community and Campus Radio", the Commission will issue a licence for a Type A community radio station, the term of which will be 25 July to 1 August 1993. This licence will be subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
In addition, the Commission notes that the applicant will broadcast 54 hours of programming received from the community station CFIM-FM Cap-aux-Meules, Quebec.
