Decision

Ottawa, 8 September 1992
Decision CRTC 92-690
CKIZ Community Radio Society (formerly T.E.E.N. Radio Society of Pincher Creek)
Pincher Creek, Alberta - 912958600
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1992-43 dated 25 June 1992, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CKIZ-FM Pincher Creek, by increasing the amount of station-produced programming from 35 hours to 70 hours per week.
This amendment will result in increases of Category 2 Music-General from 17 hours 30 minutes to 48 hours per week; Category 3 Music-Traditional and Special Interest from 7 hours 21 minutes to 11 hours per week; and commercial-free access time from 5 hours to 10 hours per week; as well as a decrease in spoken word content from 25% to 15.5% per week. The total amount of spoken word content will, however, increase from 8 hours 45 minutes per week to 10 hours 50 minutes per week.
The Commission acknowledges the interventions submitted by Vancouver Cooperative Radio and Castle-Crown Wilderness Coalition in support of this application.
