Decision

Ottawa, 4 September 1987
Decision CRTC 87-702
Newfoundland Broadcasting Company Limited
Clarenville, Newfoundland - 870151800
Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region on 9 July 1987, the Commission approves the application for a licence for an English-language FM radio broadcasting transmitting undertaking at Clarenville on the frequency 105.3 MHz, channel 287A, with an effective radiated power of 2,400 watts to rebroadcast the programs of CHOZ-FM St. John's.
The Commission will issue a licence expiring 30 September 1990, subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued. This term will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of this licence at the same time as that of CHOZ-FM St. John's.
It is a condition of licence that construction of the station be completed and that it be in operation within twelve months of the date of this decision or such further period as the Commission may, upon receipt of a request for extension before the expiry of the said twelve months, deem appropriate under the circumstances.
