Decision

Ottawa, 10 February 1986
Decision CRTC 86-82
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Atlin, British Columbia - 850897000
Following a Public Hearing in Vancouver on 2 December 1985, the Commission approves the application for a broadcasting licence for an English-language FM radio station at Atlin on the frequency 90.1 MHz, channel 211, with an effective radiated power of 15 watts, to rebroadcast the programs of CFWH Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.
The Commission will issue a licence expiring 30 September 1990, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
The Commission notes that this community has been without radio service since the Atlin Broadcasting Society closed down its FM radio facilities and that the new FM station conforms to the guidelines concerning the use of FM channels for the extension of CBC's basic AM service as set out in Public Notice CRTC 1985-86 dated 2 May 1985 on the "Review of CBC Long Range Radio Plan".
