Decision

Ottawa, 25 October 1985
Decision CRTC 85-994
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Inverness, Nova Scotia - 851765800
Following a Public Hearing in Hull, Quebec on 17 September 1985, the Commission approves the application for a broadcasting licence for an English-language FM radio station at Inverness on the frequency 94.3 MHz, channel 232A, with an effective radiated power of 490 watts to rebroadcast the programs of the CBC English-language AM Radio Network originating from CBI Sydney.
The Commission will issue a licence expiring 30 September 1989, subject to the conditions of licence specified in the licence to be issued. This term will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of this licence at the same time as that of CBI Sydney.
In accordance with paragraph 22(1)(b) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission will only issue the licence, and the authority granted herein may only be implemented, at such time as written notification is received from the Department of Communications that it will issue a Technical Construction and Operating Certificate.
The Commission acknowledges the interventions received in support of this application.
Fernand Bélisle Secretary General
