Ottawa, 22 January 1985
Decision CRTC 85-45
Riding Mountain Broadcasting Ltd.
Brandon, Manitoba - 831441100
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC l984-292 dated 4 December 1984, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CKLQ Brandon by changing the frequency from 1,570 kHz to 880 kHz and relocating the transmitter from a site approximately 7 kilometers south of Brandon to approximately 25 kilometers southeast of Brandon.
As a result of these changes, both the day-time and night-time coverage areas will receive a better quality signal. The day-time coverage area will now include the Riding Mountain National Park to the north, Moose Mountain to the west and Portage la Prairie to the east. The night-time coverage will increase by approximately 165%
This application was submitted as a result of bilateral agreements concluded between Canada and the United States relating to certain AM broadcasting stations.
