Decision

Ottawa, 17 December 1985
Decision CRTC 85-1276
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Northeast Margaree, Nova Scotia - 851248500
Following a Public Hearing in Halifax on 20 November 1985, the Commission approves the application for a broadcasting licence for an FM radio station at Northeast Margaree using the low-power unprotected frequency of 93.9 MHz, channel 230, with an effective radiated power of 42 watts to rebroadcast the programs of the CBC English-language AM radio network originating from CBI Sydney, Nova Scotia.
The Commission will issue a licence expiring 30 September 1987, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued. This term will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of this licence at the same time as that of CBI Sydney.
The Commission notes that this new FM station conforms to the guidelines concerning the use of FM channels for the extension of the CBC's basic AM service, set out in Public Notice CRTC 1985-86 dated 2 May 1985 on the "Review of CBC Long Range Radio Plan".
