Decision

Ottawa, 8 May 1984
Decision CRTC 84-405
Télémédia Communications Inc.
Timmins, Ontario - 833239700
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1984-62 dated 7 March 1984, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission announces that it approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CKGB Timmins, by deleting the condition of licence which requires the station to operate as an affiliate of the CBC English-language AM Radio Network service. As a result, there will be a decrease in the amount of material from the News, Human Interest, and Spoken Word-Other categories which should be offset by increases in Sports and Community Service Programming.
The CBC network service will continue to be available to Timmins and area residents through CBCJ-FM Timmins, on frequency 96.1 MHz (channel 241).
J.G. Patenaude Secretary General
