2002-04-22 - News Release CRTC approves a new area code and 10-digit dialing for southwestern Ontario

2002-04-22 - Telecom Decision CRTC 2002-25 The Commission directs the addition of a new area code to the area code 519 region in the first quarter of 2005 using the distributed overlay method. Ten-digit local dialing will be introduced within area code 519 and in both directions between the area code 519 region and neighbouring area codes, coincident with the introduction of the new area code.
