Whether you’re at home, at work, or on the road, your phone should be able to connect using LTE, you should have an Internet connection with access to broadband speeds of at least 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload and access to unlimited data.

But many Canadians, particularly those in rural and remote areas, do not have adequate access to these services.
It’s time to close the digital divide.
Refer to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s (ISED) National Broadband Internet Service Availability Map for the latest broadband data. Broadband coverage information is collected by ISED through ongoing consultation with Internet service providers, the CRTC, industry associations, provinces and territories, and other partners and stakeholders.

The 3rd call for applications is now open.
This call focuses on transport projects, mobile wireless projects along major transportation roads, and projects requiring operational funding to increase satellite transport capacity in all eligible geographic areas across Canada. Applicants have until 15 June 2023 at 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) to apply.

About the Fund
The CRTC’s Broadband Fund will provide up to $750 million over its first 5 years. These funds will support projects to build or upgrade access and transport infrastructure to provide fixed and mobile wireless broadband Internet access services in eligible underserved areas across Canada.
