Christian Jolivet
Director
Legal Affairs and Assistant Secretary
Cogéco inc.
1, Place Ville-Marie, Suite 3636
Montreal, Quebec H3B 3P2

Dear Mr. Jolivet,

This is in reference to your letter of January 18, 2001 in response to our letter of December 18, 2000, regarding changes made by Cogéco inc. in the matter of station CKSH-TV Sherbrooke.

We note the measures taken by Cogéco inc. regarding the revival of the noon newscasts at CKSH-TV, and that the licensee's commitments with respect to local news reflect the Commission's expectations stated in Decision CRTC 98-101.

Given the willingness of and actions taken by Cogéco inc. to fulfil its programming commitments, and the changes made to respond to complaints from people in the Sherbrooke area regarding this matter, we hereby notify you that the Commission is satisfied with the solution proposed, and is not considering an additional public process. As a result, we consider the matter to be resolved to the satisfaction of the interested parties.

Please note that a copy of this letter will be placed in the public file for station CKSH-TV for reference purposes.

Sincerely

Ursula Menke
Secretary General
