Corporate reorganization - Transfer of the assets of CKVU-TV Vancouver and its retransmitter CKVU-TV-1 Courtenay

1.

The Commission approves the application for authority to transfer the assets of CKVU-TV Vancouver and its retransmitter CKVU-TV-1 Courtenay from CanWest Television Inc. to its wholly-owned subsidiary CKVU Sub Inc.

2.

The licensee filed the application following a Commission letter dated 7 November 2000. In its letter, the Commission required the licensee to seek authority for such a corporate reorganization in preparation for placing the undertaking in trust.

3.

The Commission will issue a licence to CKVU Sub Inc. to continue the operation of CKVU-TV and its retransmitter upon surrender of the current licence. The new licence will expire on the same date as the current licence, namely 31 August 2001, and will be subject to the terms and conditions now in effect, as well as to any other condition that may be specified in the licence to be issued.
