1.On 16 March 1999, the Commission issued Telecom Public Notice CRTC 99-10, TELUS Communications Inc. Proposed Introduction of Law Enforcement Agency Service (PN 99-10) initiating a proceeding to consider TCI's proposed service.

2.Pursuant to paragraph 15 of PN 99-10, comments were to be filed by 14 May 1999. In the context of the Commission's rulings on interrogatories, in a letter dated 28 May 1999, the deadline for comment was extended to 21 July 1999. The deadline for comment was further extended to 4 August 1999 by letter dated 19 July 1999 in light of additional interrogatories.

3.The Commission considers that it is in the public interest to extend the deadline for comment to ensure full public discussion of this matter. Accordingly, the Commission sets out additional procedures below.


4.Parties wishing to participate in this proceeding who have not yet filed a notice of intention to participate with the Commission must do by writing to the Secretary General, CRTC, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A ON2, Fax: (819) 953-0795 by 20 August 1999. Parties are to indicate in the notice their Internet email address, if available. If parties do not have access to the Internet, they are to indicate in their notice whether they wish to receive disk versions of hard copy filings. The Commission will issue a complete list of parties and their mailing addresses (including Internet email addresses if available), identifying those parties who wish to receive disk versions.

5.Any person who wishes merely to file written comments in this proceeding without receiving copies of the various submissions, may do so by writing to the Secretary General, CRTC, at the above mentioned address, by 30 August 1999. 6.Parties may file comments, serving copies on all other parties, by 20 September 1999.

7.TCI may file reply comments, serving copies on all parties, by 27 September 1999.

8.In addition to hard copy filings, parties are encouraged to file with the Commission electronic versions of their submissions in accordance with the Commission's Interim Telecom Guidelines for the Handling of Machine-Readable Files, dated 30 November 1995.
