Telecom Order CRTC 99-353


Maritime Tel & Tel Limited has filed tariff revisions on 1 March 1999, to increase the minimum Late Payment Charge (LPC) from $1.25 to $2.50 on unpaid accounts exceeding $25.00. The company indicated that the purpose of the proposed change is to deter customers from paying their bills past the due date.

1.The Commission considers that the proposed minimum is excessive.


2.Accordingly, the Commission denies Tariff Notice 742.
