Telecom Order

Ottawa, 2 November 1999

Telecom Order CRTC 99-1046

In Tariff Notice (TN) 534 dated 3 September 1999, Island Telecom Inc. (Island Tel) proposed revisions for the introduction of Internet Call Manager and Messaging Integration services.

File No.: Tariff Notice 534

1.Internet Call Manager service will enable a customer to see an incoming telephone call's originating name and number on the customer's computer screen. The customer then has several options for handling the call.

2.Messaging Integration service will provide call forward busy and call forward no answer functions to alternate providers of similar Internet call manager services and other non-voice messaging applications.

3.The Commission notes that call forward busy is required on a standalone basis in the provision of Internet Call Manager. The Commission considers that the company should make call forward busy or call forward no answer available for sending to the same or separate destinations, if any customer were to request such arrangements.

4.In light of the foregoing, TN 534 is approved, subject to the condition that call forward busy or call forward no answer, or both, be made available for sending calls to the same or different destinations, upon the request of any customer.
